Artist Merchandise & Other Festivals
Posted: February 2012
We'll have artist merchandise (cds, songbooks, etc) at all the concerts and during the festival on Saturday. From 2:45p-3:20p on Saturday we've scheduled some downtime where you can visit all the vendors.
A credit card will be the easiest and fastest way to purchase artist merchandis.
Several other festival organizers will be in attendance at our festival: Uketoberfest (Eugene, OR in October), James Hill (Langley, BC in October), Wine Country Uke Fest (Napa Valley in September) and Denver Uke Fest (Denver, CO in May). We'll introduce each of the organizers during the Saturday morning remarks so you can meet them and find out more about their events.
Venue Change! Saturday Night Concert
Posted: February 2012
Due to a last-minut permit change by the City of Hood River, we are moving the Saturday Night Concert to The Pines (site of the Saturday Night Concert in the previous years). Here are some notes:
* The Solstice Mobile Pizza Oven will be at The Pines--if you haven't experienced their pizzas, then you are in for a treat. Gotta love the Country Girl Cherry and the BLBB with an oven-roasted Smore for desert!
* Pro sound provided by Rick Doersch
* Closed to the general public
* Seating for all festival participants & significant others
* Bar closed during performances
* Seated "wine service"
The timing & concert lineup remains the same.
Raffle!
Posted: January 2012
We will be raffling off a brand new Mya-Moe Mango Tenor Tradition with Tortoise binding. Raffle tickets, available at the festival, are $5 each or 5 for $20.
Another Slight Schedule Change
Posted: January 2012
One of the suggestions we had from last year was that we needed some time for attendees to visit the vendors. So, we've put a 35 minute break between sessions 3 and 4. You can visit vendors, jam, or just enjoy a bit of downtime. We moved the Open Mic at Springhouse and the Saturday Concert 1/2 hour later to accommodate the change. You can see the updated class schedule here, the updated concert schedule here, and the updated master schedule here.
Concert Lineups!
Posted: January 2012
The concert lineups are available on the "Concerts" page. And, don't forget that on Sunday the Gorge Ukulele Players will host an open mic & jam. Also, Lil' Rev will do his annual house concert on Sunday evening.
Slight Schedule Change
Posted: December 2011
The workshops will run until 4pm on Saturday. We're going to start the Saturday night concert at 7pm, which will give everybody 3 hours to participate in the open mic, or jam, or just power down.
We've arranged with Solstice Woodfire Cafe to bring their Mobile Pizza Oven to Springhouse Cellars on Saturday evening. So, you can just head over there from the workshops and hang out for the evening!
Class Schedule & Descriptions are Up!
Posted: December 2011
All of the class descriptions are on the website here. And, you can download a PDF of the class schedules here.
Each year we struggle with the concert lineups--we have so many great musicians and only 2 concert nights. And, we'd like to keep the concerts to a reasonable length. This year each musician gets a 20-minute performance spot. And, we're going to have a mini-concert after lunch in the auditorium (same venue for the Friday night concert).

Starting at 8am, we'll have complimentary bagels, juice, coffee & tea available at the Middle School. If you would bring a travel coffee mug, it will save us from throwing away a lot of cups at breakfast.

A box lunch (catered by The Farm Stand) is included in the festival price. There will be a vegetarian option available (no need to contact us).
Saturday evening dinner
Posted: September 2011
